Have you ever seen a FLOWER that is NAKED?

There are times that we are like beautiful naked flowers, vulnerable, delicate, and exposed. In times like this, maybe all we need is to be heard, understood or just to be held.
For some, life can be ferocious, especially when one is trying so hard to follow ones’ dream. “Do I have what it takes to withstand the storm? Am I enough?” one may ask.
Only to be told, “Forget it, just think positive and don’t talk about it!”
Not being able to talk about it might be one of the worst parts about being stressed or depressed. And if you do talk about it, some will be asking, “What is wrong with you? Why are you so negative?”
In this series of paintings, ‘FLOWERS are NAKED’ artist Eriberto Oriol has exaggerated some of the sexual icons in hope that they startle one into question the role that society plays in defining social roles and the rules it imposes.

For Eriberto, there is no absolute right or wrong. For him, to slay the Dragon that is within us is to listen to the wisdom of the heart and to have strength and courage to choose not to live by other peoples’ rules.
