“The Thinker – A Touch of Madness” by Artist/Street photographer Eriberto Oriol

Imagine walking into this scene of chaos and seeing the frenzy of graffiti on the walls and the madness of the scene highlighted by rays of natural sunlight coming in from above.  This is what street photographer Eriberto Oriol walked into and was able to capture in this photo.

Since ancient times, creative thinking has been linked to madness.  Still, there is a certain kind of freedom that comes from madness. With civilization come the rules and regulations. Who is really free? Who are the normal people; those who are free to act on their instincts and desires; or those who are ruled by regulations and expectations?

There is a certain kind of beauty in the madness that this photo represents but it seems appropriate for today’s social and political climate.

In the movie “Zorba the Greek” Anthony Quinn said, “A man needs a little madness, or else he never dares cut the rope and be free.”  Seneca recorded Aristotle as having said, “No great genius was without a mixture of insanity.”

The title of this photos is “The Thinker.” We all sit on the throne (toilet) and this is where our whole world passes before us. This is where we ask ourselves what are we doing with our lives, plan it and measure our successes. No matter who you are or how up or down you may be, this is the time you checkout your life and for the most part, this is what this photo represents to Eriberto.

Here at ForbiddenArtLA.com we believe “A Touch of Madness” is pivotal to a creative life and encourages people to embrace creativity and be BOLD.

FOR THE FIRST TIME,  some of Eriberto’s Iconic images are now available on T- Shirts, photo prints, and Limited-Edition serigraph prints, later posters, and more on eBay Store  https://www.ebay.com/str/forbiddenartla.
